Bavarian Giants Rout Amateur Team 27-0 in Pre-Season Match

If the ninth-tier team Rottach-Egern had hoped that Bayern Munich would use Tuesday's pre-season match as an opportunity to slowly regain their form after a long break, they were sorely mistaken. The relentless German champions secured a commanding 27-0 victory.

The match took place during Bayern's training camp at Tegernsee, ahead of their upcoming tour of Asia. Rottach-Egern, an amateur side, appeared cheerful as they posed for the pre-match photo.

However, their smiles vanished quickly when Jamal Musiala, whose late goal in the final game of the previous season clinched the title for Bayern, opened the scoring in just the third minute.

By halftime, Bayern had already built an overwhelming 18-0 lead. Coach Thomas Tuchel then made a complete lineup change for the second half, which continued to be completely one-sided.

Musiala, Marcel Sabitzer, and Mathys Tel each scored five goals, while Serge Gnabry completed a hat-trick, with a total of 13 different players contributing to the scoresheet.

"We've made significant progress; the team has been very hard-working. It's been demanding and challenging, but everyone is prepared," Tuchel commented after the game.

Facing Rottach-Egern in pre-season has become a tradition for Bayern, who previously won 23-0 in 2019. In 2018, Rottach-Egern managed to score twice in a match but eventually suffered a 20-2 defeat.
