Burnley Secures Swiss Striker Amdouni from Basel
Burnley announced on Wednesday that they have secured the signing of Swiss striker Zeki Amdouni from FC Basel on a five-year contract, with the transfer fee remaining undisclosed.
Amdouni, aged 22, impressed as the leading goal scorer in the Europa Conference League last season, tallying seven goals. He also netted 12 times in the Swiss Super League and demonstrated his abilities on the international stage with five goals in five appearances during the Euro qualifiers for the Swiss national team.
Burnley manager Vincent Kompany expressed his satisfaction with the signing, stating that they had been monitoring Amdouni for some time. Kompany highlighted the striker's strong goal-scoring threat and his ability to create numerous assists with his precise passing. He praised Amdouni's intelligence on the football field, technical prowess, and commendable work ethic, which results in him being able to contribute significantly to the team's scoring efforts.
