HulKENberg? Haas Driver Playfully Dismisses Comparisons to Barbie Movie Appearance
Haas Formula One driver Nico Hulkenberg made a lighthearted remark about his new bleach blond look resembling a Barbie movie vibe as he arrived at the Hungarian Grand Prix on Thursday. When asked if it was due to a bet, the German driver replied, "No, not a bet... you know, that Barbie movie came out, and I thought some extra PR for me would be pretty handy this time of the season." He clarified that he wasn't actually aware of the movie but stumbled upon the hairstyle coincidentally.
On a more serious note, Hulkenberg anticipated another challenging weekend for his team, despite some minor upgrades to the car's floor. He hoped the upgrades would give them a boost but expected tough competition due to the close competition in the field. Hulkenberg pointed out that qualifying might be challenging for them with the new tire rules, particularly having to use the hard tires in Q1. Nevertheless, he expressed readiness to face the extra challenge.
The upcoming Hungarian Grand Prix will be the season's first 'Alternative Tyre Allocation' (ATA) event, where specific tire compounds are mandated for each phase of qualifying. In this case, the drivers will use hard tires in the first phase, mediums in the second, and softs in the final top 10 shootout.
Currently, Haas holds the eighth position overall in the championship standings, with Hulkenberg contributing nine of their 11 points earned in the season's first 10 races.
