Orioles Outshine Dodgers in Final Showdown, 8-5
Ramon Urias drove in three runs and Gunnar Henderson hit a home run as the Baltimore Orioles secured an 8-5 victory against the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers in the final game of their three-game series on Wednesday.
Urias went 2-for-3 with two doubles, while Henderson went 1-for-3 with a solo homer for the Orioles, who halted a two-game losing streak. Aaron Hicks and Jordan Westburg also contributed with two hits and an RBI each for Baltimore.
Max Muncy hit a two-run homer and James Outman added a solo shot for the Dodgers. Will Smith and David Peralta had two hits and an RBI each for Los Angeles, which suffered only its second defeat in the last ten games.
In the top of the first inning, the Dodgers took a 2-0 lead with Smith's run-scoring double and Peralta's RBI single. However, the Orioles responded with four runs in the bottom of the frame.
Hicks and Westburg each drove in a run with singles, and Urias followed with a two-run double, giving the Orioles a 4-2 lead.
Urias' RBI double extended their lead to 5-2 in the third inning, and Henderson scored on Julio Urias' wild pitch, making it 6-2.
After Outman narrowed the gap to 6-3 in the fourth, the Orioles quickly answered with a run in the bottom of the inning as Austin Hays' sacrifice fly brought home Jorge Mateo.
Muncy's two-run homer in the fifth brought the Dodgers closer at 7-5, but Henderson's solo shot in the bottom of the inning increased the Orioles' advantage to 8-5.
Baltimore starter Dean Kremer allowed five runs on four hits, striking out one and issuing four walks in 4 2/3 innings. Reliever Danny Coulombe (3-1) earned the win, giving up just one hit while striking out three over 2 1/3 scoreless innings.
Felix Bautista secured his 26th save of the season.
Los Angeles starter Julio Urias (7-6) surrendered eight runs on eight hits with two strikeouts and two walks in five innings.
