The NBA has announced that on January 11, 2024, the Brooklyn Nets will go up against the Cleveland Cavaliers at Paris's Accor Arena for the third regular-season NBA game in the French capital.


The connection between the NBA and France has been longstanding, with a significant number of players hailing from the European country, surpassing any other location outside of North America. Among them is Victor Wembanyama, the number one overall draft pick of the San Antonio Spurs this year.


Mark Tatum, the NBA's deputy commissioner and chief operating officer, expressed excitement about bringing the live NBA experience back to Paris with two competitive teams like the Brooklyn Nets and the Cleveland Cavaliers. The game is scheduled approximately six months before the 2024 Summer Olympics, which will take place in Paris and prominently feature basketball.


At the Tokyo Games in 2021, Team USA secured the gold medal by defeating France with a score of 87-82.
